Windows 10: HCPS Loader wants the original disc when it has it

Trying to start a Land Rover repair manual CD (dated 2006).

Get from HCPS Loader "Please insert original disc."

It has the original disc.

Have tried reinstalling the DVD driver but no help.


Worked with older Windows version.

My backspin loaded OK but when I click on the icon to run the program I get these messages: Failed to start HCPS manager and HCPS loader error 153 Failed to detect OS type due to unknown error. I have windows 10.

The HCPS Loader error message means you are using the wrong operating system for the application. In other words, its machine language cannot find the addresses it needs.

I suggest you to install the game in compatibility mode and check.

1. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.



2. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select

Windows 7/8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.

3. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

If the issue persist, this game might have been designed for older version of Windows and you cannot run in it Windows 10.

How do I remove the Linux Boot Loader?

You don't actually uninstall a boot loader but replace it with another.

You cannot get Ubuntu to start on a Windows' boot loader, it needs to be GRUB (or an open source equivalent).

Any ways, to get the Windows' boot loader back up, you need to insert your WIN7 installer disk and select the repair option>startup repair. I am assuming the WIN7 will use a similar setup menu as VISTA.
