    Can't install DirectX Runtime - Help is much obliged! :S


    Hey there,

    after hours and hours of browsing through forum discussions, tutorials and articles I'm at the end of the line here, so I've got to ask you guys. I'll explain:

    Every time I try to install DirectX Runtime through the Microsoft DirectX Setup (dxsetup.exe), I get the following error message:


    "An internal system error occurred.
    Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your Windows folder to determine problem."


    That's what it says in DXError.log:

    Not installing directx runtimes


    Been trying to install directx runtimes since i'm missing game sounds.
    First I got message that A cabinet file necessary for installation cannot be trusted. Please verify the Cryptographic Services are enabled and the cabinet file is valid.

    Followed instructions to go through with
    sfc /scannow
    Found corruption
    downloaded ISO, mounted and did the dism health thingy...
    Errors fixed. Yay
    sfc/scannow shows no corruption anymore
    EDIT: nvm shows corruption now again. spent 2 evenings on this already

    Now I go and try installing directx runtimes again-> same error about cabinet file error.

    what do I do now?

    DirectX Runtime Needs to be updated in windows 10

    Hi,

    Did the DirectX Runtime install properly ?

    It is a two step process... First it needs to extract the file to a folder somewhere... either a default location, or one you choose...

    The once it has extracted, you need to double click on DXSETUP to actually install the Runtime..

    On rare occasions, it needs to be installed to specific location for a specific game...
