Windows 10: Error 0x8007065e Data of this type are not supported

HP 6730b Intel based x64 notebook running German language 32-bit Windows 10 Pro V1903 (System was originally delivered with German 32-bit Windows 7 Pro hence has been upgraded to 32-bit Windows 10 Pro).


As I had difficulties to get the recent KB4512508 update offered through Windows Update on this system (as opposed to another system of same type) I tried to make sure the latest Servicing Stack Update was present on the system. The applicable update, KB4508433 was not listed in the update history of either system. I downloaded windows10.0-kb4508433-x86_b25c79f74486b96b65e1013addda64493d363b77.msu from the Microsoft Update Catalog but when trying to install it I received the subject error message. Any suggestions?


(Additional info: I then downloaded the appropriate (32-bit) version of the KB4512508 update from the Microsoft Update Catalog, and it installed without further hassles.)

System Restore error 0x8007065E "Data of this type is not supported" after switching from MBR to GPT partition layout

Hi,

After experiencing problems with Windows updates failing to complete on my build 1511 Windows 10 Pro system with a UEFI Bios due to having initially upgraded from Win 7 with MBR partitions, I followed the instructions

here and installed a clean version of 1703, intending to restore the old system image over the top to get back to my old system with a GPT partition layout.

However, although 1703 installed fine, when I go to System Restore to restore the image, it fails with error 0x8007065E "Data of this type not supported".

So now I'm stuck with a working but pretty useless version of Windows 10 with none of my software or settings!

I've tried searching for solutions to the 0x8007065E error, but nothing comes up, so advice would be appreciated.
