Windows 10: Cortana opens then closes after update 1903

Hello. I have updated my Windows 10 Pro to 1903. Now Cortana will open with "Hey Cortana" but then hears nothing further and closes. I have gone through the troubleshooter and confirmed my microphone is working and that I am using the correct language pack English (Australian). I hope you can help please. Kind regards, Wayne

I suggest you to try to turn Cortana off and then try turning it on back and check. Refer to the steps below to turn Off and On Cortana:

• Open Cortana.
• Click the hamburger button in the top left of the window.
• Go to settings and click on off.
• Follow the same steps to turn it on.
• Check if issue persists.

Cortana closes automatically when opening

• Have you checked if the phone's software is updated? To check, just go to
  Settings> Update and security> Phone update> Check for updates.
• Did you change anything in the phone's settings before the issue happened?
