  1. Disable Monitor power off detection windows 10, keep windows position fixed

    end goal:

i need to keep windows not changing position when some of the monitors are powered off, unpluged (zero electricity)

    hardware and setup:

-asrock z77 motherboard -3770k gpu- vga dvi hdmi (all can be used) as aditional displays

-gpu amd hd7950 (default gpu in bios)2xdvi hdmi (all are used) , 2 outputs are duplicated(main monitor in windows), 3rd is used for intensive gpu use

-gpu nvidia gt 610 vga dvi hdmi (all can be used)

    monitor setup:

2 monitors(hd7950) are duplicated, used as main displays in windows (1 is powered off from monitor button, the other is powered off from the outlet, no electricity )

the 3rd monitor on hd7950 it is also powered off from the outlet, no electricity

2 aditional monitors that are also powered off from the outlet, no electricity (there can be connected to any gpu output from MB or gt 610)

1 aditional monitor that has to be on all the time (the windows on this monitor must not move when the other monitors are powered off and on )

(if at least the windows on this one monitor remains unchanged the solution is satisfactory - this can not be the main display in windows )

preferably none of the windows should move, flicker or change position

i am thinking that if the windows stops detecting that the monitors are disconnected it will not change any window position

    i have tried:

-monitor stand by - cant turn off only the monitors that i want

    - gpu and monitor driver updates and downgrades

    - software like, windows persistance, display fusion, actual window manager , etc

    - regedit ddc/ci

    - rearinging the monitor configuration

    * maybe there is some other registry setting that i can manually input the monitor configuration, or software to keep the same monitor config regardless of any hardware or software changes, or software that can keep that window position fixed (tried actual window manager for that, does not work)

    :)

    Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Feature suggestion: Remember window position

I suggest for GPU-Z to save its window position on exiting/starting again. Most similar programs have this - please add!

For example, I want to move GPU-Z to my 2nd monitor, and have it keep that position after I close it and run it again.
An example of a program that has this is Core Temp - I use Core Temp to track my CPU temps, and use GPU-Z to track my videocard temps.
    RealTemp has it too.

(Sorry if this has been brought up before...
Core Temp has a small bug with the window position when using 2 monitors, but its author will be fixing that too.)

    Disabling iGPU in windows 10

Ah, had that multi display option disabled. Currently installing clean windows maybe that was the problem. What version of windows 10 are you on btw?
