    File Explorer Administrator Access?

Is there a way to open Windows File Explorer in Administrative Mode to enable me to use it to delete files that require administrative access? In particular, I want to delete a non-Microsoft file in Windows\System32 called agentactivationruntimestarter.exe. Attempting to delete it from File Explorer brings up the following popup.

    File Explorer Administrator Access? f92fb47e-91f2-42df-a3dd-9d6b17f881c1?upload=true.png

Strangely, even if I open Command Prompt in Administrator Mode and attempt to delete, I get "Access is denied." Running attrib shows it to only have the Archive (A) attribute (no hidden, system, etc.). Does anyone know anything about this file?

    :)

    Quick Access Crashes Explorer

    Hi Bill,

Quick Access is a new feature in Windows 10 File Explorer navigation pane which helps users quickly navigate to locations which are frequently used. However, if you're having issues with Quick Access, you can try to disable and enable it. To disable Quick
    Access, follow these steps:

    • Type File Explorer Option in the search box.
    • Click on File Explorer Options.
    • Under General tab, choose This PC in the Open File Explorer to: drop down menu.
    • Uncheck Show recently used files in Quick access and
Show frequently use folders in Quick access.
    • Click Apply an OK.
    • Restart the computer and re-enable Quick access.

Let us know how it goes after performing the suggested troubleshooting steps.

  3. File Explorer/Quick Access

I recently started having a problem with File Explorer and Quick Access. When I start my computer, all works fine but then gradually the files as listed in File Explorer and Quick Access start to disappear and soon there are none present. I need to
restart and again they are there but also again they start to disappear. Has anyone else had this problem and any suggestion to correct? Thanks/

    File Explorer Administrator Access?

Can't access my home user account on Windows 10.

File Explorer may have encountered an issue due system conflict. To correct this, follow the steps below:

    • On the Search bar, type in quick access and press Enter.
    • Select File Explorer Options.
    • On the General tab, make sure to set Open File Explorer to
      This PC.
    • Under Privacy, remove the check mark on Show recently used files in Quick access
and Show frequently used folders in Quick access.
    • Click Apply and OK.
We also suggest that you follow these steps on how to Enable Built-in Administrator
to access your files and perform the troubleshooting steps given by
    Pavan_N
and BulldogXX. Follow the steps below to Enable Built-in Administrator:

The built-in elevated "Administrator account" is a local account that has full unrestricted access rights to the PC.

    • Right click on the Windows icon, select Command Prompt.
    • A Command Prompt window will open.
    • Type in or copy and paste this command:
      • net user administrator /active:yes
    • Press Enter. Close the Command Prompt.
    • Sign out with your current account and try to sign in using Administrator.

Let us know if these troubleshooting steps worked.
