Windows 10: "Link to Windows" (Your Phone) fails to connect on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10

I have recently bought a Note 10 and tried to use the "Link to Windows" feature, which is basically just the Your Phone app. I've used this with multiple other devices on my PC before, all without issues. With the Note 10 though, I can't establish a connection.


I go through the linking process on both my phone and PC (running Windows version 1903) and get stuck at my phone telling me to check my PC and my PC telling me to check my phone like this:





I am of course not getting the notification on my phone.


I've tried everything I could think of multiple times, including:

- Rebooting both devices multiple times

- On the Microsoft Account website, unlinking the phone from my account

- On my PC,

- resetting the Your Phone app from Settings

- going to Settings/Phone and unlinking my devices

- double checking in Settings that the Your Phone app is allowed to run in the background

On my phone,

- checking if notifications are enabled for the Your Phone app

- removing all Microsoft accounts from Settings/Accounts and clearing the cache & data from the Your Phone app (I can't uninstall and reinstall the app since it's built into the system on the Note 10)


None of these have solved the issue. I'm still stuck waiting for the notification. I have a clue at what could be going wrong. Even after unlinking my phone from my PC in every possible way (on the phone, on the PC and on the Microsoft account website), when I open the Your Phone app on my PC, it still shows the "Galaxy Note10" as a device I'm trying to set up as in the screenshot above. It seems like I'm unable to fully unlink the phone from this app and even after I reset the app, it remembers this link from somewhere. I've gone to a different Windows PC as well, which I've never used Your Phone on, and to my surprise when I opened the app, the Note 10 was there as a phone that's in the setup process.


Does anyone have any ideas what I could do? Thanks in advance!

Samsung to Halt Galaxy Note 7 Production Temporarily
Move follows reports of problems with replacement phones.

"Samsung Electronics Co. has temporarily halted production of its troubled Galaxy Note 7, according to a person familiar with the matter, the latest setback for the South Korean technology giant as it struggles to manage a recall of 2.5 million smartphones.

The move comes after a spate of fresh reports of overheating and fires with phones that have been distributed to replace the original devices, which also had a risk of catching fire.

In a statement Monday in Seoul, Samsung said that it was “temporarily adjusting the Galaxy Note 7 production schedule in order to take further steps to ensure quality and safety matters,” without elaborating.

The production halt underscores the growing seriousness with which Samsung is dealing with its largest product recall to date. Last month, Samsung officials shrugged off reports of overheated batteries, calling the incidents “isolated cases” related to issues of mass production.

In a separate statement a few days later, the company said in response to reports about abnormal battery charging levels in its replacement phones that “the issue does not pose a safety concern.”

While Samsung hasn’t confirmed the latest reports of problems with its replacement phones, it said in a statement Sunday that it was working with authorities including the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission to investigate the new incidents."
