Windows 10: cumulative Updates from microsoft update catalog for win10 1709 x64 keep failing since July...

I manually update windows 10 (version 1709, x64bit, edu) with the cumulative updates from the microsoft update catalog. I have been doing this for over a year now with the same routine, with no problems.


Now, the last two monthly cumulative updates (2019-07(KB4507465), including the previous installed SSU and 2019-08 (KB4512516)) keep failing. The installation does not start, the update windows does not open. The error comes immediately - I tried it on several computers, even a clean installed one, and I keep getting following errors:

0x8007000d


I cleared the Windows Update cache - no change.


I am looking for help with exact this issue of manually updating windows 10, 1709.

Anyone else having problems getting the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) installed? This update has been failing for me & doing a failed to update after downloading & reboot, then rebooting & removing the update.

V 10.0 build 10240

I also had the same problem with 2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for X64-based Systems (KB4056892). It kept failing with several error codes:

• 0x800705b4
• 0x8024a105
• 0x800f081f

First, it would not install because I had not enough hard disk space on C:\. I cleared space, but Windows Update could not install afterwards regardless. The way I made it work was manually:

• Click Windows Update
• View Installed Update History
• Find the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1709 for X64-based Systems (KB4056892) Last failed install
  
• Click the Update title
• Your web browser opens
• Go to the section "How to get this update"
• Click hyperlink "Microsoft Update Catalog"
• Pick the right file for your environment (X86 or X64, Intel or other)
• Donwload the file
• Run the downloaded file, which applies the Cumulative Update
• Reboot machine afterwards
• Run Windows Update again, no more updates outstanding
• You can go to "Installed Update History" again to verify correct installation of
  the Cumulative Update, it is listed there
