Windows 10: Win update 1803 problems

Every time there's a major update it breaks my computer and I have to revert to the stable version.


Currently using 1709, build 16299.1087 on a Lenovo all-in-one


Previous major updates resulted in ghost circles scrolling down the center of the screen and the mouse pointer being stuck in one of those circles. I would move it out and it would jump right back.


The expert on here let me know my only fix was to revert back to a stable build. So I've done that with the updates since then.


I finally updated to 1803 and was surprised there weren't any ghost circles. But not so fast - this time after a couple of days there was a ghost circle -but only 1 - in the upper right corner and the cursor was stuck in it.


I did a restart and the ghost circle went away but eventually came back and the only way to get rid of it for just a short time is to restart. I was also concerned it would get worse so I reverted back to 1709.


BUT I again got the notice that 1803 wanted to install. I put it off but eventually did it and again, after a short period of time, there's the ghost circle with my mouse cursor as prisoner.


I again reverted to 1709 and again got the notice to install 1803.


I've now done that install 1803, revert to 1709 , notice to install 1803 multiple times including today and again the notice popped up to install 1803.


Is there any way I can make this circle of install, revert, install, revert, install stop?! I don't want to keep running 1803 and have to restart over and over.

Following Win 10 Update (1803): Unable to print (Printer offline message).

Printer Samsung ML2950 Series.

I have followed all the suggestions here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027397/windows-10-fix-printer-problems

None of them fix the problem.

The printer is working fine. Another WIN 10 computer on the network is able to print to the printer without issue.

Latest updates:

• WIN 10 1803

and

• Security Update for Adobe Flash for Win 10 1803 KB4338832

I uninstalled KB4338832 and the problem persists, so I presume that the problem is with the 1803 update (as that took around 2 hours to install, I'm reluctant to uninstall it to test it).

 

Win 10 1803 to 1903 update

My Desktop computer running Win 10 updated from version 1803 to 1903 a while back, but my Desktop running Win 10 version 1803

I'm assuming the update 1803 to 1903 has now resumed after the earlier problems caused a suspension?

Any thoughts, suggestions?

 

Win10: windows update stuck at never ending loop ?

When in win10:

• Update&security -> Windows update -> Finding update... .... .... ....

Planning to download the latest Win10.ISO (vers.1803) and manually update:
- Then wait that my ordered new SSD arrives and clone the old HDD to it.
