Windows 10: Windows Update 1903 and WiFi / Connectivity Issues - Solution

Mystery finally solved... I think.


For the last 2-3 weeks, my PC and Xbox WiFi internet connection have been periodically fluttering in and out of connectivity. It would be fine for anywhere from a few minutes to several hours at a time, but then it would knock out for 5-10 minutes. This happened on a daily basis and basically whenever I used the machines. After trying everything and several calls to my internet provider later (with them telling me they didn't know why it was happening), the issue was a miserable mystery... Until I read an article released by Forbes last night that reported these issues and that they're being caused by the latest Windows Update 1903.


The article pin points the issues I was experiencing and suggested restoring to a previous version of Windows, so I came home from work today and gave that a shot. Ran into some error messages that didn't allow a system restore so ultimately decided to reinstall Windows. And whatdya know... Problem solved so far. Consistent connectivity for a few hours and no issues yet (for the first time in weeks!).


Pain in the butt to reinstall Windows, but if anyone else is experiencing this problem then DO find a way to restore back to a previous version. Also interesting are the audio and Windows search problems that the article reports. I've definitely noticed weird issues with them over the last few weeks as well...


Pretty ridiculous update if you ask me!

Local profile issue after upgrading to 1903

Not listed in the Known.

Known issues for Windows 10 May 2019 Update version 1903


As far as Wifi any chance it is Qualcom inside USB adapter, if Qualcom then yes known issue.


I might create another user (Local) and when if try again see if this issue occurs on both users.

Would also suggest you run the first 5 steps in this tutorial to see if you have any corruption with current build.

No WiFi in Win10 Pro (1903) Windows Sandbox


I (seemingly) successfully updated my Surface Pro 6 to v.1903 today, and after some initial fumbles enabling it, now have Windows Sandbox enabled and it seems to open just fine. However, there is no WiFi access within Sandbox.

Accessing Settings for Network & Internet, the list on the left is:
Status
Ethernet
Dial-up
VPN
Airplane mode
Date usage
Proxy
WiFi appears no place in that window. Network status shows No Internet Access.

What step am I missing to be able to access the internet from within the Sandbox using my computer's WiFi connection?

 

Windows 10 not automatically connecting (I've read other solutions)


Okay, I'm having an interesting issue. A desktop that was upgraded from Windows 7 64bit to Windows 10 64bit using the normal upgrade path. I forgot to uninstall my internet security software (Comodo) so I had to fight the "no wifi after upgrade" issue. I got that resolved by following the steps others have found.

However, now my wifi is not saving the password nor is it remembering the "Connect Automatically" settings. That is, I uncheck the box for all other available connections, (even the one I want to automatically connect to eventually), but after reboot, the box is checked again.

Solutions I've tried.
1. Uninstall the wifi adapter in Device Manager. Unplug device. Reboot to Windows 10 desktop. Plug adapter back into the USB slot. Setup wifi connection with automatically connect checked. Reboot and no automatic connection.
2. In Manage WiFi Settings, remove any "known networks" from the list. The Forget button is not available in the popup list from the tasktray. Reboot. Reset. Reboot and no automatic connection.

Are there any other tricks I may try that I've missed in my search?
