Windows 10: Windows 10 1903 update ruined my Laptop completely

I have a Dell Inspiron 5558 i7 Laptop which was working very well until I updated my Windows 10 to the latest 1903 version. I had to switch to Ubuntu LTS to save my Laptop from further damage.

Problems I am facing right after 1903 update:

1. The USB ports malfunctioned. 2 out of 3 USB Ports of my Laptop stopped working. But they are now working again in Ubuntu.


2. Some Laptop keys stopped working on random. Now I am using an external usb keyboard because Laptop keypad now needs to be replaced. I am not sure what caused it but I took precautions by switching to Ubuntu.


3. Touch-pad is totally ruined. After the update, Touchpad started acting weird. The cursor would only work for a second and stop if I dragged fingers very slowly. So I can't drag items or scroll to small distance. Its totally fine in Ubuntu.


Now I have some serious permanent hardware problems in my Laptop which started right after I updated to 1903 version.

Advice: DO NOT USE Windows 10 1903 version!!! if you don't want your system to be ruined like mine.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

game performance is ruined in 1903


i am still on build 1809 and i am delaying using 1903 for now because i have been hearing that it ruins game performance. thanks for your tip and i will suggest it to others who are having that issue

 

Win 10 update ruined my computer

I will gladly dispose of any "ruined computer" that Windows 10 has "ruined". Just ship them to me and I will take care of disposing of the "ruined" hardware!
