    how to preload windows10 on systems we build.


    We are building systems for resale and need to know a simple way to "pre install" windows 10 so that the customer can complete the install, enter the COA etc..

    I did this long ago when I was working in IT but that was XP.


    My research has pointed to using Microsoft MDT and ADK. Both of which require server 2012 or higher as well as a Windows domain controller which suggests active directory. I don't use that here in this business.

    If we continue to get these jobs I'll be happy to install server and host the image on it.


    Is there a quick and dirty way to create a preload image for windows10?

    Something the end user can boot into and be presented with the windows setup?

    PC Build Steps

    Ok just because I like steps i am going to create some steps. Please give me the stamp of approval/disapproval
    • Install system in case
      • Remember to connect SSD and optical to same SATA ports on motherboard
    • Turn on PC
    • setup HDD
    • run blend test in prime95 for 30-60 min
      • run realtemp at the same time
    • While in Prime95 test
      • if CPU goes above 70c in RealTemp, I have a leaky CPU
      • if my system locks up or blue screens, there is an instability in the system somewhere
      • if my system does not lock up or blue screen, my CPU is not damaged and I am in the clear!
    What do you guys think??
