  1. Delete old backups from another PC

I have an external HD where 3 different system image backups by windows were created in some other laptop. Now I have a different PC and I want to free disk space by deleting 2 of 3 backups. All searches in web show that I can use

Control Panel > Windows 7 Restore and Backup > Manage Space

But however, this does not have a "manage space" button, and even when enabling backup no disk space can be freed (since I think the backup was created by another PC).

    Please help, thanks

    :)

  2. How to delete old backups after changing the PC's name?

    Hi,

Try to follow these below steps to delete the system image backup:

    1. Open the Control Panel (All Items View).

    2. Click on the Backup and Restore icon.

    3. Under Backup, click on the Manage Space link.

    4. To Select a Backup Location - NOTE: This is for where the User file backup is located at. If the backup location is already displayed, then go to
    step 5.

    A) Under Backup location, click on the Browse link.

    B) Navigate to the backup location and select it.

    C) Continue to step 5.

    5. Under User file backup, click on the View backups
    button.

    6. Select the Backup Period that you want to delete, and click on the Delete button.

Let us know how it goes.

    Regards.

    Does Backup delete old backups?

MS Backup has generated a 1.5+ TB backup file on my external hard-drive. That's many times the size of the hard-drives it backs up. This makes me wonder if Backup deletes old backups when it created the daily backup update?

If it doesn't, how do I get back to a backup-file of a more reasonable size?

    Thanks
