Windows 10: Samsung external DVD/CD writer on windows 10.

I need to use my external DVD/CD writer I have used it before but I was in windows 7.I am now using windows 10,can you help please.

External DVD writer

I have a Samsung external DVD writer model SE-S084 connected on my system and I can't write to a cd

 

Microsoft 10 and Samsung DVD/CD writer not working

I've done everything suggested plus had a rep from Microsoft control my computer but no luck. Drivers say up to date. Firmware is current(2014) and nothing says it's incompatible.

Either Microsoft needs to remedy this or I need some suggestions for external DVD/CD writers that will work with W-10. I'm not going to purchase something and not work again. I've spent entirely too much time at this. Samsung is no help either.

Microsoft 10 and Samsung DVD/CD writer not working

I have a Dell 560s computer. The internal dvd player accepts any cd/dvd but will not play so I bought a Samsung DVD writer. That worked fine in Wind. 7 but after the download to 10 it won't play any cd's but will play dvd's. I've downloaded the
current firmware from TSST and both drivers show up in the device manager and both say I have the current drivers.



When I plug in the external and put in the cd that came with the writer, the files come up but it won't play. I've gone through this with a Microsoft tech and he controlled my computer but could not find an answer to my problem.



I did take the samsung and plug it in to a Toshiba notebook and it worked fine. The window came up that says run was but does not come up in my Dell.



Any positive help would be appreciated. If I can't get this fixed I will need to purchase another writer but not sure if that will work either.
