Windows 10: Cannot connect to wi-fi hot-spot of my laptop.

    Cannot connect to wi-fi hot-spot of my laptop.


    I started my hot-spot of laptop but my mobile is not connecting to it showing 'Couldn't get IP address error'. I have looked for similar problems in forum but couldn't solve the issue. All the required network drivers are updated.

    Wi-Fi Hot Spot Login

    I am using Windows 10 on a Surface 3 and Windows Phone 8.1 Denim on a Lumia 930.

    I have turned off the "connect to recommended hot spots" option because I found that I was getting to connected when I did not want to be - or connected to one hot spot when I wanted a different one.

    But now when I manually select the hot spot I want to connect to, Wi-Fi shows that I have connected, but I am unable to reach the logon / sign in / accept terms screen to complete the connection.

    So when I try to use the web, I get an error message and can't reach the page I am trying to access.

    So my question is: How to manually select which wi-fi hot spot to connect to - AND then reach the logon screen to complete the connection?

    Upon starting up my laptop tonight I noticed in the "recent" apps on the start menu an icon "Connect" I didn't add it yet when I tried to uninstall it does not show up in the listing on the laptop. I have traced this to the Wi-FI hot spot which I have
    turned off, yet I still want this removed. I don't trust anything that just shows up as recent, when I haven't been using this app at all. Should I be concerned. I can't find properties of the app or software, it still shows up in the start menu so why
    can't I find it on the machine?
