  1. Black screen (like display driver crash) mostly during gaming, no errors

    Hello,

I'm hoping I can get some sort of assistance with this as I'm at a loss for what to troubleshoot.

A bit ago I picked up a Vega 64 which was working fine for a while, then after forcing the Windows 1903 (I think? the one required for the new Xbox (beta) app to use Xbox Game Pass for PC) I started getting random black screening during games (and possibly once without any game running) that functioned exactly like a display driver crash/recover. After being unable to fix the issue, I fell back on reformatting and freshly installing Windows 10 to the same update, at which point my system was running without issue again. That is, until about a week ago when I received another Windows update and the black screening started again.

I have tried using Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode to remove the AMD drivers after also disabling automatic installs in Advanced system settings. I then freshly installed the latest recommended drivers from the AMD support site (which I downloaded before removing via DDU) and the issue is still present. There are no errors logged in Event Viewer relating to the display, so I have no idea what to look into. I feel I may need to reformat again to get rid of the issue, but I would really like to avoid using that work around when the issue inevitably returns.

The only thing that I find odd, is that the System events have a random "disk 4 has been surprise removed" or "disk 5 has been surprise removed" which I find very strange as I only have disk 0 through 3 registered.

    Any idea?

    Windows 1903

    I5-8600k

    Sapphire Nitro Vega 64

    EVGA Supernova 750 G3

    :)
