Windows 10: scrolling whilst highlighting text

Whenever I highlight e piece of text ready to copy it and it runs of the bottom of the page, The browser wont scroll for me when I drag my cursor to the bottom of the page. Its very frustrating because other programs are not doing it either.

Page not scrolling while highlighting

I recently moved my taskbar to the side so that it is vertical. With this change there is a problem as I can no longer scroll down while highlighting. When I highlight text (in adobe reader and webpages) I used to be able to highlight
some text and if I wanted to highlight more just move the pointer down to make the page automatically scroll down while still highlighting, both up and down. After I moved the taskbar, I can only scroll up while highlighting. Scrolling down no longer works.
Please help, I really like putting my taskbar vertically and I also use the scrolling down while highlighting function a lot.

Hi Andre,

My laptop is an HP Spectre x360.

I tried adjusting the settings like you suggested, but I can't get it to work.

I can get it so that I can click and highlight what I see on screen, but I can't get it to scroll down further. When I reach the bottom of the page instead of scrolling down it just stops.

Text highlight not sticking - Post Anniversary Update Issue


Immediately following the Anniversary Update, I have been experiencing issues with text highlighting.

Left click text highlighting rarely 'sticks', or stays highlighted after releasing the left mouse button.

Right click text highlighting doesn't highlight text at all.

I have tried using another mouse (different manufacturer) - same issue.

Does anyone have any suggestions, or has anyone experienced this issue?

P.s. I've tried some basic troubleshooting such as searching for updated drivers, restarting system, using another mouse (as mentioned)
