Hi, I would like to extend my C drive as it is often full but I cant seem to do it because the partition next to C is the healthy recovery partition. What should I do? Can I delete the healthy recovery partition? Will that be okay? Or is there a way to move the healthy recovery partition in front of the C drive so that I can extend C using the unallocated space next to it? 2. Resize partition C

In order to extend C and recover space from D, you will need to delete the 866 MB Healthy Recovery Partition and the Storage D:\ partitions.

There appears to be data on the D:\ partition.

I recommend you backup any important data on that partition before deleting it. After deleting the partitions, you will be able to extend C:\

    Steps:

Right click the ‘Healthy (Recovery Paritition) and the
Storage (DCan't extend C Drive because the partition next to C is Healthy Recovery Partition. What... :)
partitions in Disk Management, on the contextual menu, click the ‘Delete Volume’ option. Click ‘Yes’ when the warning dialog appears.

The Volume you deleted will now appear as ‘Free space’, you will also notice that the disk icon no longer appears in the list of volumes.

Right click the Free space partition, and click Delete, click Yes on the Disk Management warning that appears.

The volume will now appear as Unallocated. Our next step is to merge back that unallocated free space with the system partition
(CCan't extend C Drive because the partition next to C is Healthy Recovery Partition. What... :). Right click the System volume then click the ‘Extend Volume’ option on the contextual menu, click ‘Yes’ when the warning appears.

A wizard will now begin that will guide through the steps to merge back the unallocated space with your system partition.

The wizard provides a simple procedure to merge back the unallocated space with the system drive. Once you have selected the space, click Next, at the end of the wizard, you will see the amount allocated.

Windows 7 Drive C extend partition

    Hi,

I have a problem extending my drive c partition, here's the scenario:

Basically, I have 2 partition, the drive C and drive D. Since I am no longer using the drive D i want to delete the partition and add it to drive C.

    Heres what I've done,

I navigate to disk partition manager and delete the Drive D partition after that i right click the Drive C partition to extend its storage but the extend button is disabled.

Next, I use my bootable windows 7 installer and choose the advance method installation, there, i was able to extend the partition, but, i want to know if extending the Drive partition will remove my drive c data ? I dont want that to happen. . I want just
to extend its storage thats it. So that i can be only using Drive C.

    Thanks. .

    How to extend C partition

    Hi Kevin,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

I would suggest you try the following steps and see if it helps.

    1. Right-click on the partition (in your case, Data) and select
    Delete Volume.

    2. When the prompt appears click Yes.

    3. The partition will now display as Unallocated.

    4. Now, right-click on C: Drive and select Extend Volume.

    5. Click on Next. If you wish to extend all the unallocated partition to C: drive, then click
Next otherwise next to select the amount of space in MB
text box type in the space (in MB) to merge with C: drive.

    6. Click on Finish.

Note: In disk management, D: drive must be next to the C: drive on the right-side only then you can extend C: drive.

Hope this helps. Please respond if you have further related queries.

    Regards,
