Windows 10: Mouse wheel scroll makes screen bob up and down

Whenever I try and scroll up or down with my mouse wheel, it bobs up and down. For example, on this page if I scroll down, it'll go down two line, up one line, down 1, up 1, etc.


Previously I have changed number of lines scrolled, uninstalled the mouse from the device manager and rebooted to let it reinstall, and tried to blow out the area around the wheel with a dust blower. Nothing has helped.

• Go to Settings.
• Select Devices.
• On the left pane, click on Mouse & touchpad.
• Select Additional mouse options.
• Go to the Wheel tab to adjust the scroll speed of your mouse wheel.

Suggest you try:
a. A different mouse
b. Safe mode (will use different driver)
c. Check inside mouse- dirt can get into mouse around the scroll wheel - I find cat hairs accumulate
d.Check the value of




"WheelScrollLines"="0" - probably disables scrolling.
