  1. USB connections not recognised

I have recently had problems with a number of devices connecting via USB, including several USB memory sticks, Arduino processors and a 3D printer. These initially do not connect, and when I go the Device Manager are shown as "Unknown Devices" with the yellow triangle/! symbol. If I then Update Driver > Browse Computer > Pick from available drives, the driver appears and can be installed. If I have several USB sticks using the same driver, I have to reinstall the drivers for each individually, although they are use the same driver. If I remove a USB stick, then reinsert it, I have to repeat the process although it now is recognised as a USB Mass Storage device. In all cases, clicking on "Properties" gives the message:

"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)"

I have found and tried numerous proposed fixes to this problem but none have worked.

    :)

USB not recognised after years using it.

    Thanks for your suggestion.
Uninstalling USB Device and booting up and reconnecting the Xpress USB flush drive did not work it was still not recognised on any of the 6 USB 2.0 or on any of the 7 ports on the USB 3.0 hub, although it is recognised on other pc. I am now transferring the data to another USB drive before I format the Xpress and see if it is recognised again in the original pc.

  3. O/S is not recognising device via usb connection

Please help. I am trying to connect my iPod to my ASUS X540 L with O/S windows 10 but it does not even recognise that the device is connected via USB even though the iPod is charging. The same thing happens when I try to connect my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
via USB. I have 2 USB ports on this laptop yet neither one of them works. Device manager states they are working properly yet none of my plugged in devices are showing up on the list. Here is a copy of the message in device manager "USB Root Hub (USB 3.0)
    Properties, Events"

    Device USB\ROOT_HUB30\4&b5e9dc6&0&0 was migrated.

    Last Device Instance Id: USB\ROOT_HUB30\4&b5e9dc6&0&0

    Class Guid: {36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056-444553540000}

    Location Path:

    Migration Rank: 0x0

    Present: true

A very similar message shows for USB Composite device and Intel(R) USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller. I have no idea what that means or what I can do to make my laptop recognise devices connected via USB. I would appreciate any suggestions you might have
    to fix this.

    Thank you kindly.

    Regards,

    Monica

  4. USB connections not recognised

USB Memory Stick not recognized by Windows 10

I followed both steps suggested by Anish but still no joy. My laptop 'recognises' the usb by making a sound but fails to open it or even list it.

I'm using a Samsung series 9 laptop with Windows 10 and the USB is Maxwell 8gb.

I've used this same usb before in the same machine with no problems. The connection is obviously good as the red light in the usb comes on but it goes no further.

Hope you can help - there's some crucial stuff on the usb that I need to access.

    thanks.
