  1. Super Sluggish & will not "re"-boot

I am running OS: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro that is current with all updates. My CPU: Intel Core i5-3570 running at 3.57GHz; GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti and I have 8gb of ram and 64bit OS as a stand alone system and I have an Ethernet connection for web access and my provider is Comcast business. I have 2 issues:

    1 (PRIMARY)

My system has gotten progressively slow and has reached the point that it takes 5 minutes to open an image to edit. I work as a photographer and digital editor. When I attempt to download files or make actions in a program there is a significant delay. Downloading or moving very small files or images it now takes minutes vs seconds to complete and action such that it now takes 5+ minutes to download anything, regardless of size.

I noticed the issue a few (2-3) weeks but the delays were seconds, now the delays are minutes. In the process of trying to resolve the issue I attempted to install a new virus program thinking something may have been loaded and was controlling my system. In the processor installing the program I got an error that said I needed to reboot my system before installing. This request lead to issue #2

    2. (REBOOTING)

When I attempt to reboot it stays in that mode indefinitely. PLEASE NOTE: I can do a hard boot by holding the on/off button in then starting the system but cannot reboot from the OS menu. When I attempted to before, I stepped away from my system and came back 30 min later and it was stuck in the same mode.

Before attempting to run a virus program I ran a program called NovaBench that checks the health of your system and I ran it 4 times on this machine and I ran it on my other desktop. The results stated that something (simple answer) was affecting my CPU & GPU.

I would "greatly" appreciate any assistance you can provide to help resolve this issue

    :)

PC Sluggish After Waking From Sleep

    Thank you for the update.

"Could it be that their drivers are not compatible with my current Windows build?" - Yes, there's a possibility that's why you're experiencing some performance issue.

Another thing, some users have reported that the possible reason why their computers are sluggish is fast startup (enabled by default). We may try disabling the fast startup, then check if the issue will still occur. To do so, please follow the steps below:

    • Open Power Options.
    • Click Choose what the power buttons do.
    • Under Shutdown settings, uncheck Turn on fast startup (recommended).
    • Click Save changes.

And we also suggest checking the Processes and Performance in Task Manager if you feel your computer is sluggish.

We would appreciate an update about how it went.
