  1. Can't Connect to One Specific Wifi Network

I've been unable to resolve this problem. I've applied the troubleshooting I've found by searching the internet with no luck. Maybe somebody can figure out what's gone wrong.

I have a Microsoft Surface 2 laptop with Windows 10. The Wifi on my laptop works and has connected to every Wifi network I've ever asked it to in the 10 months I've owned it, including my iPhone hot spot and a coffee shop I was at today. However, it will not connect to the Wifi network at my aunt's home that I am visiting. My aunt is connected to this network. My iPhone can connect to this network no problem. So I know that other devices are able to connect to it. And I know my laptop is able to connect to other Wifi networks. But it won't connect to this one. Here is what happens:

    1. I select the network name (which is shown as "Secured") and select "Connect".

    2. I enter the password (network security key), which I know is the correct one because I've used it to connect my aunt's computer and my iPhone and I've typed it what feels like 100 times on my laptop.

    3. I select "Next".

    4. I get the message "Do you want your PC to be discoverable...?" and select "No" (I've also tried "Yes").

    5. I get the message "Can't connect to this network."

Here's what I have done to try to resolve this problem.

    1. I deleted the network adapter in Device Manager and restarted my computer to get it to reinstall.

    2. I tried updating the network adapter driver using the automatic search function. I also searched through Windows update. It is up to date.

    3. I ran a WLAN report but don't understand any of it. In every case where I've tried to connect to the network, it says the Disconnect Reason is "The specific network is not available." The EventID 8002 is "WLAN AutoConfig Service failed to connect to a wireless network." Connection Mode is "Connection to a secure network without a profile".

My network adapter is a Marvell AVASTAR Wireless-AC Network Controller. The internet modem I am trying to connect to is a Shaw Cable (Canada) Hitron CGNM-2250.

    :)

  2. Assigning a default WiFi connection

Is there any specific way to force Windows to connect to a certain WiFi connection?

Since my PC keeps connecting to a commercial WiFi hotspot rather than to my home network when it boots.

    Things I have tried:

    • "Connect to suggested WiFi hotspots" has been turned off
    • Home network has been set to "connect automatically" when connecting
    • Hotspot networks have been "forgotten" in the WiFi settings
Is there anything else I can try to fix this problem?

    "Can't connect to this network."

I just bought a wifi card for my windows 10 desktop (a tp-link archer t8e) and cannot connect to my network.

I have the wifi icon on the tray, I can get a list of available networks but after entering the wpa key for my network it just shows the message "Can't connect to this network."

Network diagnosis just suggested connecting to a wifi network (why didn't I think of that...), does anyone here have any clue as to what the problem could be?

UPDATE: Just noticed that the wifi adapter is being disabled briefly just after I enter the network password, no idea what's going on.

  4. Can't Connect to One Specific Wifi Network

    Lumia 930 WiFi stops working

Have same issue on a 930, the 920 doesnt have the issue at all so can confirm its model specific.

I can replicate the issue following the steps below. Anyone else have it following these steps?

    • Restart the phone
    • Connect to 2GHz wifi network (connects)
    • Disconnect from wifi
    • lock screen and leave it for 15 mins
    • Connect to 2GHz wifi network (fails)
