Windows 10: Windows 10 Program not responding and black screen

I have many customers with windows 10 that get a "program not responding" and a black screen when the computer is waiting for a response from a credit card terminal via a lan connection. There was never a problem on Windows 8 or 7. Is there a way to increase the time before it determines the program is not responding or a way to prevent the screen from going black? It is actually just waiting for a response from a PAX terminal via a POSLink request. Some customers have dual monitors and the second monitor that is displaying transaction information for their customers does not go black.

Black Screen after Log on


Computer boots to windows log on,have no password here.After a minute on log on it go to a black screen,stays there forever. I can get to Task Manager from black Screen,lost on what to do next. Just want my Windows 10 back, not sure what caused this problem. Any Suggestion on what my next step should be?*Sad
