Windows 10: Earphone/Microphone issue PC as well as Discord

Hey Guys!

I am using an ASUS Laptop and i use Boat earphones with a microphone in it. Now the main problem is when i play games while being connected via Discord, my friends can hear the same audio that i hear. That is, they can hear any audio on my desktop. I tried a lot of things to fix it but couldn't fix it.

Also when i go to sound setting and check for playback devices or recording devices, my earphones are not shown there, the default is set as realtek even though i am using my earphones at that same time. i even tried the "show disconnected devices" option, it's blank.


So basically my main problem is my microphone, which is on my earphone, is picking up my desktop audio. Please help. Is this problem because my device is detected as the realtek driver and not as a separate individual device.

  What are the troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
  

We suggest that you run the
Hardware and Device Troubleshooter. To run the
Troubleshooter, follow these steps:

• 
  On the search bar, type
  Troubleshooting
  and hit
  Enter.
  
• 
  Choose
  Hardware and Sound.
  
• 
  Click on
  Hardware and Devices
  to run the
  Troubleshooter.

Microphone issues

Hi Michael,

Here are the possible reasons why you're getting an error "The microphone did not pick anything up" when using it:

• Incorrect settings (microphone is not set as default device)
  
• Corrupted or outdated driver
  
• Faulty device
  

For us to isolate the issue, we'd like to know the following:

• Were there any changes made to your computer prior to this issue(e.g. Windows updates)?
  
• Have you tried connecting other microphone to your computer?
  
• Have you tried connecting the microphone to the other computer?
  

In the meantime, we suggest running the Recording Audio Troubleshooter to find and repair problems with recording sound. We also suggest checking if your microphone is set as your default recording device. For troubleshooting steps, please see

Microphone only works on Discord.

My microphone only works on discord.

Its at default in the recording settings.
