Windows 10: Struggling with Family Groups / Minor E-Mail Accounts - infinite loop of unhelpful help

I have an e-mail account set up for my 9 year old. Without getting into whether that is old enough to have her own email or not, I'm struggling with Microsoft's parental controls.


I use her email address for her airline and other similar emails. I want to set her email account up on my iPhone so I can get the boarding passes sent on the phone to add to wallet, etc.


When i try to set up her email address on my phone as an Outlook.com email address, I get a message from Microsoft that says:

"Your parent has blocked access to games and apps that aren't published by Microsoft. If you want to use this app, ask your parent to visit account.live.com/mk and go to Manage this child's access to third party apps for your account."


So I go to that link and of course there is no such 'manage this child's...' option. That appears to have been replaced by Family Groups or something like that so I add myself as an adult family member on my daughter's account, accept the invite and I'm off to the races. I see a link that says 'set app and game limits' which sounds like just the thing I'm looking for. The link resolves to this url: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...count-set-app-limits-across-your-kids-devices. When I land there, I see a link that says "To set app and game limits, go to family.microsoft.com and sign in with your Microsoft account. Find your child's name and select App and game limits. (App and game limits aren’t available on adult accounts at this time.)"


Sounds good. Only the above link takes me right back to where I started...It's a circular reference.


How can I get it so I can use the controls the way they are intended? I thought about changing her DOB but by golly, that has a similar infinite loop issue when I try to work through it.

Advice needed : New e-mail account

To add to this.. Many free services "read" your e-mail to deliver targeted advertising. I put read in quotation marks because it's not that group of popular girls from high school snickering to themselves while they read your e-mail, it's a computer. That computer looks for keywords. If it sees "pool" and "barbeque", you're probably going to get ads for lawn chairs and tiki torches. Maybe your e-mail was "Barbeque the bodies in the pool. We can't have the cops find them." Google doesn't know. Google doesn't care.
In return for this, you get an incredibly secure e-mail account with zero maintenance.

If you would prefer not to have even Google's computers poke through your messages, you can buy a Google for Work account ($5 a month). Honestly, kind of worth it even for a personal account.

 

Rearranging the Order of E-Mail Accounts


I have six e-mail accounts established in my Windows 10 Mail. It appears the accounts are listed in the order they were created. However, I just had to add another e-mail account and it is at the bottom of the list. Is there any way to rearrange the list? In Windows 8.1 you could move the accounts up and down in the order that you wanted them listed. The procedure used in Windows 8.1 does not work in Windows 10.
