Display Two Monitors does not Identify correctly NOR does it allow me to fix it

I have been using two monitors for almost a year and had no problem. Since updating to WIN 10, and Office Pro Plus 2019, in the same timeframe, the settings for Display/Rearrange Display and Detect/Identify has my right-side monitor and left-side monitor incorrect, and will not Detect nor Identify and become correctly positioned. I have looked everywhere for answers about how to fix it, and this is my last resort. Please, Please Help Me!

    :)

  3. Problems with Windows 10 not identifying monitors and drivers correctly

I have just upgraded to Windows 10 on the following system where monitor identification and operation is not working correctly:

    Computer:

Asus N56VM with i7 Ivy Bridge 4 core processor, 16gig ram, built-in Intel 4000 graphics and also Nvidia GT 630M with 2GB ram

Laptop has built in 1920x1080 15" monitor

video outputs are 1 x VGA

1 x HDMI (which seems to be only recognizing the NVidia card.

    2 External monitors

    1) on VGA, 19" Acer running at 1440x900

    2) Kogan 2560 x 1440 IPS panel on HDMI port

    Problems:

    1) The Kogan monitor used to be able to get 2560 x 1440 via custom settings in NVidia card while operating under Windows 8 but now it's maxed out to 1920 x 1080 when the card is in fact capable of doing 2560 x 1600.

    2) When verifying which monitors are connected in extended display mode, Windows, correctly identifies all 3 monitors but the NVidia identifyer says that both the Kogan and internal laptop display are 'display 1' and the external vga connected Acer monitor
    is display 2.

    3) Last problem is that it seems to have affected my xrite Color Munki Display colorometer which now, when I go to do a color calibration, wants to calibrate the wrong monitor relative to the labelled monitor. If I go to check the Acer, it tests the Kogan
and if I want to test the Kogan it wants to test the internal laptop monitor.

I have already been in touch with Kogan, Asus, Nvidia and xRite and every one is point the finger out at the others.

This was working fine in Windows 8 and 8.1 so this leaves the Windows team to hopefully figure out what's gone wrong.

    Thanks,

    Marc C .

Problems with Windows 10 not identifying monitors and drivers correctly

    Hi Marc,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

I understand the inconvenience that you are experiencing. I will definitely assist you.

This issue could be due to the graphic or Kogan display driver is outdated. Let’s try the simple steps and check.

    Method 1.

I would recommend you to go to the Kogan manufacturer website and download the latest updated driver and install it. Also check if the Kogan monitor model is compatible with Windows 10 on the below link.

      NVIDIA select “Update it”.
    • Restart the computer once it is uninstalled.
Note: Make sure you download the updated graphic driver.

    • Right-click on the setup file of the driver and select Properties.

    • Select Compatibility tab.
