    my HP laptop is now going to sleep after 2 minutes of inactivity even though the power settings are set for 45 minutes. I have called HP support 4 times and they have been no help. Please tell me what I need to do to fix.

    This has also occurred on my Toshiba laptop after the recent creators update....have tried most of the suggestions in this thread with no luck....laptop keeps going into sleep mode after 1-2 minutes even though settings are for never.

    Please fix Microsoft.

    yes, it was already off.

    its waking up one hour after it sleeps for about 2 minutes, then sleeping again. How the eff can i track what it does in that time if nothing shows in powerCFG or the event log?

    I would suggest you to change the Power save option to avoid the computer go to sleep with in 2 minute.

    Follow the steps:

    1. Right click on the start button
    and select Control Panel.

    2. Next select Power option (search in the search bar option if unable to found).

    3. Click on the Power saver and then select
    Change Plan Settings.

    4. Make the changes according to you and save it.

    If you are still facing the issue then try running troubleshooter for
    Power. Follow the steps below:


    • Press Windows + X key. 

    • Select Control panel.

    • In the search box, type Troubleshooter
      and then click Troubleshooting.

    • Click on Power and click on next.

    • Follow the onscreen instruction.
