    mail gone astray


    I no longer have any of my emails in my in box from between oct 2019 and jan 2017


    last time I had a problem it was to do with a windows update.


    i noticed a couple of weeks ago a new folder in my gmail called 'bin'. previously there had been just trash and spam and junk folders.


    bin seemed to have become populated overnight with mail from my inbox.


    please could you help me find and restore my mail amd explain what might have happened.

    Hello Adam,

    This is the suggested solution below if you haven't already tried it. mail gone astray :)

    In this Windows 10 build 10041, the Mail, Calendar, and People apps may be broken due to a licensing issue with the Store Beta. To get these apps working again, you need to follow these steps:

    • Open powershell as administrator
    • Run the command Get-appxprovisionedpackage –online | where-object {$_.packagename –like “*windowscommunicationsapps*”} | remove-appxprovisionedpackage –online
    • Re-install Mail, People and Calendar from the Store (green tile)

    Why did the startup window get cleared?

    I didn't missed any step, the list was gone and gone , even after using lot of programs the programs were not listed in that list.

    I did that to no avail, then I ran WSReset.exe; now I'm good on all 3, Mail, Calendar and People! *Confused
    Go figure!
