  1. Microsoft Login Nightmare

    This is long (winded) . . .

I have been using Windows since 3.1. In 2011 I bought a new PC and as soon as Windows 8 was introduced, I set up a Microsoft Account. This was years ago and in that time, I have switched phone service with a new number and no longer use or monitor the original hotmail account I set up at that time.

4 days ago, I thought I'd try to rediscover the original password or reset it, you know, Forgot password, etc. But, I quickly realized that would fail because I could not recall the original Microsoft password I used for the Hotmail account, nor, could I use the original cell phone number or backup email I had in those days because, well, I no longer have that number or use that email. So, even though I have plenty of ways to verify my identity, none of that works for Microsoft these days!

After searching online in vain for a solution, I was able to phone Microsoft and had an actual human remotely connect with me, even though I was told they could not resolve account or password issues with me by phone. In that process my Microsoft Account appears to have somehow become a Local Account instead of an Admin, although I have no idea how or when in that phone call this changed. Possibly it happened by accident?

Finally, somewhere in the process the last 4 days, my email sign in was changed to a comcast email from my original Windows 10 upgrade sign in which has made it possible for me to post a question here but, the issue is far from resolved for me. I'm still not clear as to my account status.

I need assistance connecting with support at Microsoft, US-based, preferably by phone, who can assist me to unravel this cluster and set everything straight.

    Appreciate you folks reading,

    :)
