Windows 10: Windows 10 Pro Version 1809

We are a small business (3 employees) and upgraded our computers to Windows 10 Pro Version 1809 back at the end of May. We have had nothing but problems. The latest one was due to some Windows updates which got automatically installed. We had to call our computer support professional and have the updates backed off which were KB 4512578, KB 4524147 and KB 4520390. They also had to install a new HP Universal Print Driver pcl6-x64-6.8.0.24296. The bill came to $367.50. This is outrageous. We just upgraded at the end of May and have had nothing but problems not to mention the costs to upgrade the computer and hardware. We'd like reimbursement. Whom do I contact regarding this?

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Windows 10 update version 1809 fails to install and reverts back to version 1803 on my Surface Pro (5th) with windows 10 Pro

Windows 10 update version 1809 fails to install through Windows Update and reverts back to version 1803 on my Surface Pro (5th gen) with Windows 10 Pro. I also tried to manually install this update by deleting the Windows Update folder (Windows/SoftwareDistribution)
and downloading update 1809 from the Windows 10 Downloads site (Windows10Upgrade9252.exe).

Same problem : Download ok, install hangs at 84%, hits black screen, restarts the pc and reverts OS back to 1803.

After deleting the windows Update folder and eventhough this update 1809 failed to install, it does not show up as failed anymore and is also not found through Windows Update anymore.

* Any suggestions on how to have this update 1809 installed correctly on my Surface Pro (5th gen?)

* Some of my windows updates get installed in the Programs and Parts list, not in the Installed Updates list

(KB4023057 for example), Why is this happening and could this form a problem with updating to version 1809 ?

 

I cannot update my Surface Pro 6 to Windows 10 1809

I just upgraded my Surface Pro to Windows 10 build 1809.
Here are the steps I did:

1. Open your web browser and go to Download Windows 10 and click "Download tool now".
   
2. Double-click on the MediaCreationTool1809.exe file you've downloaded.
   
3. Agree the license terms.
   
4. Select the "Upgrade this PC now" option and click Next.
   
5. Just wait to complete the upgrade process.
