Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Bluetooth No Longer Working

Since installing a system update yesterday, my Surface Pro 5 has been encountering errors with the Bluetooth driver. There is no longer a space to turn Bluetooth on/off in my action center, and no switch in the Bluetooth & other devices section of my settings. Beneath all of my paired devices, there is simply a line that says "Bluetooth is turned off."

When I run the troubleshooter for Bluetooth devices, it prompts me to reinstall the Bluetooth and Wireless LAN Composite Device driver, which I have done, and it still marks that the issue is not solved. In my Device Manager, the Bluetooth and Wireless LAN Composite Device properties show the following message:

This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)

Driver is not intended for this platform.
To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.

If I attempt to update the driver, I get the following error:

Windows found drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install them.

    Marvell AVASTAR Bluetooth Radio Adapter

Driver is not intended for this platform.

When I close out of that window, my Device Manager no longer has a Bluetooth section. Instead, a new section replaces it called "Other Devices," which expands to contain "Unkown Device." When I access the properties, the following message is displayed:

The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

Driver is not intended for this platform.

To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver.

But, when I attempt to update this driver, I get the previous error message about Marvel AVASTAR Bluetooth Radio Adapter. If I uninstall the "Unknown Device" and navigate to Action > Scan for hardware changes, the Bluetooth section returns, but the Bluetooth and Wireless LAN Composite Device reverts back to error Code 1 as shown above.

In searching for a solution to this problem, I have updated to the most current version of Windows 10, manually downloaded the most current drivers for my Surface Pro model, attempted to uninstall the Bluetooth drivers altogether and reboot my computer to see if it would automatically reinstall them, and so far nothing has worked. I am at my wit's end here, so any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    :)

surface pro 4 no longer connect to bluetooth mouse

For Surface Pro 4, here is what I did when I had the problem with Bluetooth no longer showing up:

    1. Swipe left to get action center
    2. Click on All Settings button
    3. Make sure you are at the parent menu (you will see a list with System, Devices, Network & Internet and more in a column)
    4. Scroll down and click Update & Security (on my Surface, the last choice)
    5. Click on Troubleshoot (about halfway down)
    6. Scroll down to Find and Fix Problems
    7. Click on Bluetooth
    8. Click on "Run the Troubleshooter" button
    9. Tell it what you want to do (now that I've fixed mine, I don't see the options).

That fixed it for me. Hope the same is true for you!

Bluetooth not working on surface pro with windows 10

that seems to confirm that there is a problem with Bluetooth under windows 10 on original surface pro. I hope Microsoft step up and fix this problem in a 100% Microsoft environment.

thanks for your post, and good luck!
