Windows 10: Windows time and date reset

I bought a new HP desktop with Windows 10 already installed. I set everything up as instructed. Everything is fine except everytime the computed restarts or wakes up the time resets to 14 hours ahead from Central time or basically China time. No matter what I do with time settings. Turn off auto time set or turn it on. Very frustrating. Any help out there

I suggest you to change the Date and Time format from Control Panel and check. Also select the time zone as UTC-5.00 Eastern Time.


After changing the setting, I suggest you to set “Windows Time” service as automatic. Follow the steps provided below.

• Press Windows logo Key + R key.
• Type services.msc
• Right click on Windows Time service.
• Select Properties.
• Under startup type drop down, change it to Automatic.
• Click on Apply button and OK button.

Restart your computer and check.

Could I get you to try changing your time zone to another country, then changing it back to your own? This might reset the date and time settings.

Here are the steps:

- Click Start and type "date".

- Click on Date & Time settings

- Change your timezone to something else, then close the settings app. Open it to the same place again, then change your timezone back to what it should be.

If that doesn't work, try resetting the Windows Time service.

- Click Start and type "services.msc".

- Click the first result.

- Find Windows Time in the list, right-click it and click Restart.

Date and Time Year is 3015 and can't change to 2015.
