Windows 10: Thumbdrive icon changed suddenly by SanDisk ULTRA?

I just noticed a strange behavior: when I insert a SanDisk ULTRA 128GB thumbdrive into a USB port of a Windows 10 machine, it causes all icons for all removable USB drives in File Explorer to change to this icon forever (!)





For example, here's a yet-unspoiled Windows 10 machine with ADATA thumbdrive in it. It is a Windows Setup thumbdrive. Originally in File Explorer it looks as follows





As you can see, it displays the expected custom icon specified by `autorun.inf`. Now, I insert my SanDisk ULTRA into a USB port next to it. And suddenly icons for both drives change to this





The machine no longer wants to display the "default" drive icon. And it no longer honors the custom icon specified through `autorun.inf`. For all thumbdrives it simply displays that "white server" (or whatever that is) icon.

Moreover, this behavior is permanent (!): removing that SanDisk ULTRA from that machine does not help. Rebooting that machine does not help. That machine is now screwed up for good. It keeps using this "white server" icon for all thumbdrives from that moment on.

What could be possibly going on here? Is there a new driver specifically for SanDisk ULTRA drives that gets "activated" by a SanDisk ULTRA drive and screws up everything? How do I revert to normal behavior?

E71 & Sandisk 8GB Ultra/Extreme

As of my knowledge a micro SDHC of

• Class 2 gives 2MBPS data transfer
• Class 4 gives 4 MBPS,
• Class 6 gives 6MBPS,
• Sandisk Ultra gives 15MBPS
• Sandisk Extreme gives 20MBPS

My question is whether the 8GB Sandisk Ultra & 8GB Sandisk Extreme can work in Nokia E71. If yes, will i get the full speed?

Laptop keeps restarting after sleep with SanDisk Ultra II 960GB

I'm having issues with my new SanDisk Ultra II 960GB SSD in Asus Q550LF laptop running Windows 10: laptop keeps resetting after being woken up from sleep.

Looking in Windows event log, sleep event is actually missing. This event was logged while I used HDD which came originally with the laptop.

I installed SanDisk SSD dashboard and everything seems ok. Firmware is up to date. I've disabled HIPM in Power Options as suggested in another forum.

Any hints what could resolve this before I try to sell this SSD or send it back to SanDisk?
