    Damage Caused By Tech Support

Yesterday morning I had a notification saying that my Windows license was about to expire. I checked the PC, using help boards etc, to check the issue. Everything I checked said, "Windows 10 Pro - Windows is activated, but the message kept returning.

I called the Microsoft number - MASSIVE MISTAKE! PLEASE NEVER DO THIS! - Got through to the first of Many advisors who requested remote assistance to check the issue, I obviously agreed. After a few checks, being put on hold several times and what seemed to be changes being made I was told the issue needed to be escalated and someone would call back.

    NOBODY CALLED BACK X 6

During these 6 separate sessions each "technician" made several changes one included registry changes and downloading windows version 1903, someone then promised to call back a 7th time... They obviously didn't. I called back and was told the department dealing with the issue was closed and that I'd have to call back tomorrow.

At this point my computer was, and still is, a complete mess and was (is) showing Windows 10 Enterprise for Virtual Devices - Windows NOT Activated. I've called back again this morning, several "technicians" later again, still absolutely nothing has been done to correct the criminal damage caused by inept call centre agents pretending to be technically able. I'm still left with an unactivated version of Windows and the computer can barely perform basic tasks now at a snails pace. STILL waiting for yet another call back after it apparently being escalated yet again! Criminal damage plain and simple. Someone has to pay. But who?

    :)

  2. Tech support from ECS. Bad. HELP!

There is a good chance that there was some damage to the motherboard. However, try replacing the motherboard battery and borrow a slightly more powerful power supply if you can. The hard drive suggestion that tech support gave you will make no difference, although if your OS isn't on the master drive it should be.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    B3 Phenom support

I checked gigabyte's site on my GA-M57 and it didn't say anything about b3 stepping update, but all of the x3 chips are b3 steppings, so just use the x3 support bios if available.
