Windows 10: UAC makes my computer worthless

Hi Everybody and Good Afternoon -
Sorry to be whining on my first post on 10Forums, but I am at my wits end this afternoon.
I'm , an active retired old guy. I owned a construction/development company for nearly 40 years and made myself learn to make use of computers back in the day when computing for business was just a child.

Right now I am running WIN10 Version 1903 on an ASUS R510L laptop. I've been downloading Windows Updates regularly each time a new Version was published. Until last week I'd been quite satisfied with WIN10 until this User Account Control took over. UAC blocks my every attempt to use apps to tweak my computer's behavior.

I'm aware that UAC is integral to the Windows security software made by JAM Software GBH. And that we plebes are not permitted to adjust its internal settings. But since UAC showed up my old Administrator password won't work thereby negating any UAC sign-ins. And for some reason, my User Account has been changed so that now, command prompts are useless. UAC even blocks my attempts to remove and re download with a fresh version of Windows.

OK, that's enough. How in the world can I just start over with new Windows passwords where needed and the ability to my critical repairs my User Account. Maybe when I download Version 1909, that make me well again, computer-wise?

UAC

UAC is blocking me from both my Administrator's account and other files. I don't recall setting a password up when I purchased the computer. UAC has made my computer basically worthless! What to do? It's a home computer and I am the only user.

 

UAC not allowing software activation

Once again the so called support engineer did not even read the entire thread before posting yet another solution that did not do any good.

However, I was able to solve my situation without your help after all. My original question was how do I turn off UAC. the method suggested in this thread only turns the notifications for UAC off not the UAC itself. In order to turn off UAC completely,
I went into the registry and turned it off there. After doing this, everything installed perfectly.

To disable UAC prompts, I suggest you to follow the steps provided below:

• In the search bar, type Control Panel and press Enter.
• Click on User Accounts and again click on User Accounts.
• Click on Change User account control settings.
• Provide password for the UAC prompt.
• Drag the box from Always Notify to Never Notify and click on OK.
• Provide password for the UAC prompt (if asked again).

Important: Turning off UAC reduces the security of your computer and may expose you to increased risk from malicious software. We do not recommend leaving UAC disabled.
