  1. Windows Hello Popped Up on Its Own after an Update

Hi there. I was surfing the net when I received an alert to update my computer. I did the update, but then something called Windows Hello (which I had never heard of) had popped up, and the computer was refusing my password. When I tried to reset my password, I got a request for a PIN, which I did not have, because, as I said, I had never even heard of Windows Hello and had never signed up for it. I had to reboot my computer to get back to the regular sign-in. What caused this to happen, and what can I do to prevent it from happening in the future?

Windows Hello Popped Up on Its Own after an Update

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the time to respond Windows Hello Popped Up on Its Own after an Update :) Best regards.

And thanks for the tip of that program, I'll have it on my list.
