Hello everyone,

I have this old notebook that was working perfectly fine when suddenly I had no internet connection and apparently the computer stopped recognizing even the ethernet cable.

I already tried a bunch of things, like restoring system, reinstalling windows again (without deleting my stuff), restoring network settings, but nothing solved the problem. No icon appears on the taskbar, and I can only access network status by clicking on the notification button.

I also have Ubuntu on the same computer and both Wifi and Ethernet works fine on it.

The Wifi screen shows a weird line which I have no idea what it is.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Wi-Fi on laptop is gone

Hi,

I don't have a wifi option under Network & Internet. Also there is no Wi-Fi option under: Settings > Network & Internet > VPN >Change Adapter settings. Just Ethernet.

It’s like there is no Wi-Fi in my laptop. Not in the settings, not the Network and Sharing Center, not on the taskbar... it’s just gone. I used to have Wi-Fi , but suddenly the only option to connect to a network
is by Ethernet.

I know that there were questions similar to mine, however the recommended solutions did not work for my problem. I could not find the wifi switch nor a key that has a picture of a wireless antenna or a wifi option in the network
and sharing center. I also updated the driver softwares (Realtek PCle FE Family Controller #2 ). Which stated to be up to date. However, I still cannot find a wifi option.
