Hey there, my headphones are not being detected by the Dolby Audio app & after opening the app it just shows an error message like this below,

but after unplugging the headphone the message goes away and I'm able to access the settings of the app.

  2. Dolby Audio not recognizing Headphones

I purchased a laptop that came with the Dolby Software. before i was able to connect my headphones and a "Headphone mode" would basically show up on the software so i can get a lot better quality with stronger bass, recently it completely stopped recognizing
my headphones and am stuck with the regular dolby made for speakers.

    Notes:

    - My headphones connect to the Audio jacks

    - I cannot open the Realtek audio manager to enable/disable the headphone jack detection

    - I have Windows 10 (came installed in the laptop)

    - The drivers for Audio installed are provided by the Product support, and are up to date.

    - I am using the same headphones before and after i had the problem

  3. Dolby Audio not recognizing Headphones

    HI Ahmad,

I'd like to ask few questions so I can isolate your concern properly. Kindly answer the following:

    • Do you have a different headphone? Can you test it to see if the issue is within the computer or the headphone?
    • Can you also access the headphone to a different device to see if the same issue persists?
    • Do you also have a different user account? Can you test the headphone to see if the same behavior occurs?

    Meanwhile, kindly follow these steps:

Method 1: Update the Dolby Software. It's possible that the software is outdated and this restricted you to use a headphone to your device. It would be best to contact Dolby support to know which would be the best and compatible version of software for your
    device.

Method 2: Run the Playing Audio troubleshooter. Go to Settings> Update & Security> Troubleshoot> Playing Audio> Run the troubleshooter. The automatic troubleshooter will try to fix issues that it finds and give you a hint what's the main cause of the issue.
Otherwise, if everything is perfectly fine and the troubleshooter did not find anything that may affect the computer, you may proceed to the next step.

Method 3: Uninstall and reinstall the sound or audio driver. Go to Device Manager> Sound, video and game controllers> Right click the driver> Properties> Driver tab> Uninstall Device. Since the laptop is new, the option for rolling back is unavailable since
there is no previous driver that was installed in your laptop. You can simply determine it if it's grayed out. Please be reminded that even though it's grayed out, it does it mean it' not working. The best suggestion is to uninstall and reinstall the driver
in the Device Manager. You may also look for the device manufacturers website to know which is the latest released update for your device.

You may also see the Fix sound problemsarticle for more information. Proceed
to the 3rd section and finish the rest of the troubleshooting steps.

  4. Dolby Audio app not detecting headphones

Dolby Advanced Audio and Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio

I upgraded to Windows 10. On the Control Panel, both Dolby Advanced Audio and Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio are listed.

Neither one is listed in Device Manager. When I click on Dolby Advanced Audio, It says, "Unable to start the Dolby Audio Driver. Restart the computer or reinstall the driver". Clicking on Dolby Digital Plus Advanced Audio the app opens. Do I really need both?
Both are listed on Programs and Features.
