Windows 10: Windows 10 doesn't remember wifi password on restart. I tried every method I could google...

Will not remember WiFi passowrd on boot or restart

Windows 10, in my experience, will remember network SSIDs & passwords so you may have a technical problem somewhere. I agree with you that following the suggestions in the first reply above is not useful.

I have found the following limitations:

• If you disconnect from a WiFi network then it will lose the auto-connect setting.
  
• Only if the WiFi network disappeared while you were connected then reappeared would the auto-connect setting be retained.
• It can only save the SSID & password for a single hidden-SSID WiFi network.
• It cannot remember a priority order for WiFi networks [I experimented with
  Command prompt commands to achieve this but the results were inconsistent and the command
  netsh upon which the commands were based has not yet been documented in Windows 10 despite being significantly different to its properly documented Windows 7 forebear. I tried to create a manual for it by copying all its individual help lines but
  there are literally thousands of variations of this command & I do not have a month to spare to create the list of them all].

There were lots of threads about these issues last year but there has not been any decent resolution of the situation. I have given up trying to find any solution.

I can only suggest that you search the forum for something like Windows forgets WiFi SSID and password to see if there are any threads containing useful guidance. That element of your question is definitely a fault rather than a deliberate feature
of Windows 10. You will almost certainly find several threads but I do not know if they will be useful or not. You could easily spend a year following all the bad advice and you would get nowhere or worse.

The diagrams you show all exist in Windows 10. They are in the same places and look pretty much the same as they did in Windows 7.

1 Properties of the network Your first diagrams [the pair**] can be reached by going to

• Right-click on Start button,
• Control panel,
• [View by - Small icons, if necessary to see the next step],
• Network & sharing center,
• Look for the name of the network then, to the right, click on the entry in blue next to
  Connections.

[** Being able to see those two diagrams proves that you do not have any manufacturer's utility controlling your WiFi card. Those diagrams only exist if Windows controls it.]

2 Properties of the network adapter Your second diagram [the one on its own] can be reached by going to

• Right-click on Start button,
• Control panel,
• [View by - Small icons, if necessary to see the next step],
• Network & sharing center,
• Change adapter settings,
• Look for the name of the network adapter then right-click & select Properties.

I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.

• Have you tried typing the password with On-Screen keyboard?

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if it helps.

Step 1: On-Screen Keyboard

You may use the accessibility options to pop open a on-screen keyboard and type the password from there to make sure you are typing the correct password.

If you see your email address listed there, it must be a Microsoft account. You will be able to reset the password and log in if your PC is connected to internet.
