Windows 10: BSOD Error DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

I am getting BSOD from the past 3 weeks, It gets embarrassing in lectures when the device is connected to the projector and it gets BSOD.


It will be of great help if someone from the community can help me out in this.


I have attached the error log and code. Error Info from WinDbg Preview.

+1 to listing your full system specs, OS version, etc. I did only look at your BSOD log file.

Run a Diskchk /R (I know you already ran one, so you can skip this)

Run SFC /SCANNOW

Report back.

 

BSOD- nt_wrong_symbols.sys DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

I've been getting a BSOD every time I try to play certain games (IE: Fallout 4, sometimes Sims 4, where others (Overwatch, State of Decay, etc) work perfectly)

According to who crashed:

On Sun 1/7/2018 8:27:59 PM your computer crashed or a problem was reported

crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\010718-9750-01.dmp

This was probably caused by the following module: nt_wrong_symbols.sys (nt_wrong_symbols)

Bugcheck code: 0x9F (0x3, 0xFFFFAA0BC8DA0060, 0xFFFFF80394D0A7F0, 0xFFFFAA0BCBAEBB80)

Error: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE

Bug check description: This bug check indicates that the driver is in an inconsistent or invalid power state. A device object has been blocking an IRP for too long a time.

This is likely to be caused by a hardware problem.

A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: nt_wrong_symbols.sys .
