Windows 10: Cumulative Update 2910 KB4522742 will not install

    Cumulative Update 2910 KB4522742 will not install


    I have updated to the latest Windows 10 level, November 2019. In running updates, I have one called Cumulative Update 2019-10 for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 for Windows 10 version 1909 for x64., KB4522742, that will not install. I get an error code of 0x8007000d. All I can find for the reason is that I must already have .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.


    I found .NET Framework 4.8 at Microsoft, but it would not install because it said I already have that. I found .NET Framework 3.5, but it would not install, said it was not for my computer, I can see the publisher (whatever that means).


    This Cumulative Update has not installed despite several restarts and tries. Its downloaded and ready, it just won't install.


    What can I do to get this to install? I found some approaches at appulas.com, but it involved a horrendously long list of command lines to run, and I don't even know what they are doing, don't want to get myself into real trouble.


    Seems to me I have had such an issue in the past, and the next cumulative update works and it all goes away. I think. But how can I solve this for now and forever?

    Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) will not install

    Anyone else having problems getting the Cumulative Update for Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB3156387) installed? This update has been failing for me & doing a failed to update after downloading & reboot, then rebooting & removing the update.

    V 10.0 build 10240
