Windows 10: New Windows 10 laptop, extremely slow internet??

A couple weeks ago I bought a new laptop, the MSI PS63 Modern to replace an old HP laptop half the price of that. Both laptops are Windows 10, but for some odd reason the new one's internet is extremely slow?

It has nothing to do with the internet connection itself because my old laptop works just fine, around 38-40 mbps but the highest I've seen the MSI one go is 2 mbps. Same room, same updates, same time.


Ive tried updating it, rebooting it, even tried just using it hoping it'd 'get used' to the internet connection in my room but ive had it for maybe 3 weeks now and nothing. The laptop itself is amazing and speedy, the only thing wrong is the internet which I can't seem to figure out for the life of me.


Specs:

Old HP laptop- Intel core i5-6200U CPU @ 2.30 ghz, 8 gb RAM


MSI PS63 Modern- Intel core i7-8565U CPU @ 1.80 ghz, 16 gb RAM


maybe it has something to do with the driver? or the ghz? anything helps

Jumplist sometimes extremely slow

I bought a new laptop with Windows 10 recently.

Only after a few days, the jump lists started to get extremely slow.

But they behave that way just for a while, then they work as they should again.

When slow, it takes several minutes for the jump list to appear. It is extremely annoying. Especially e.g. when I have opened a remote desktop and want to open another one via the jumplist.

I had exactly the same problem with my old Windows 7 PC and assumed that I would get rid of that problem,
changing both PC and OS, but no.

I do not want the standard answers to this problem:

- Disable Aero

- Clear the (Explorer) Cache for Jump lists

- etc.

It is definitely something else. I mean, how would the jump list cache get full after only a week? And why does the jump list get slow only sometimes and then suddenly works just fine again?

So please, give me an answer that takes this into consideration.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK

Inkscape extremely slow on new, powerful computer

Last week I bought an ASUS ultrabook laptop:

• i7 6500U processor;
  
• 256 GB SSD hard drive;
  
• 8GB RAM memory;
  
• Intel HD Graphics 5500 video card.
  

I was told this laptop should be extraordinary fast. However, working in Inkscape on Windows 10, it is extremely slow.

Is it the hardware, or might there be some other reason for Inkscape being this slow?
