    Upgrade from Win7 to Win10 - Ethernet says it's the Kernel Debugger?

    Hi,

    Network is working fine but something is out of sync here. Under Network Connections the NIC shows up as "Ethernet (Kernel Debugger)" using the "Ingel(R) Ethernet Connection (7) l...", Properties shows "Connect Using" as "Microsoft Kernel Debug Network Adapter". I can't disable it. In the device manager under "Network Adapters" I see "Intel(R) Ethernet Connection (7) I219-V". I see Symantec TAP Driver, VirtualBox Host-Only Ethernet Adapter, and severl WAN Miniport items.

    Why does it say it's using the kernel debug network adapter instead of whatever it would normally say? I've tried removing the NIC from device manager then have it scan again, just put back the same thing.

    Thanks.

    :)

    Win7 to Win10 upgrade issue ... 0xC1900101-0x30017 and then 0x40017

    hi, Andre,

    yes, i think my note did say that i already created the bootable ISO on a DVD and started the Win10 upgrade from there. i already contacted the vendor and he gave me a list of Win10 drivers, suggested the bootable ISO upgrade method but did not recommend
    a new BIOS update.

    My PC is a ZOTAC CI320none with an Intel processor running a licensed Win7 Home Premium SP1.

    win10 upgrade fails for Win7 desktop machine

    OK, so I'm running Win7 on a desktop, and Microsoft is pestering me to upgrade to Win10. I finally tell them to download the update, and it fails giving me a code. I click on the link to explain the code, and (surprise) the code is not in the list to
    be explained. I click on Microsoft FixIt to try to resolve the issue, and it says it couldn't fix the problems. So ... it makes me wonder. The two previous machines I upgraded had NO SUCH problems - one upgraded from Win7 and the other from Win8.

  4. Upgrade from Win7 to Win10 - Ethernet says it's the Kernel Debugger?

    Win7 --> Win10 upgrade

    When MS made the Win10 free upgrade available, I upgraded my win7 system to win10. Some time after that, I had a disk failure and reinstalled win7 because it was my understanding the free win10 upgrade was no longer available. That was a year and a half
    or so ago. Now I was just reading that, in fact, Microsoft keeps that information on a server and that I could, in fact, reinstall win10. Is that correct? I would really have to put win10 on and then find out it wasn't licensed and I had to go back and reinstall
    win7.
