  1. Max volume locked to 67%

So, I recently noticed my max volume on windows 10 won't go over 67%. I can move the dial up to 100% but the max volume is still locked at 67%, when I test the sound device, it reaches a peak of 67%

It has been a huge annoyance since the volume is really low. When I use my headphones on any other device I get full 100% volume, but on my computer it never goes over 67%. Sometimes it randomly resets to 67% but even if I'm able to move the volume dial, the volume is maxed at 67%. It never gets louder than 67%

The only occasion when it gets louder is when I change the speaker mode on the realtek audio console, when I change it, it stays at 100% for about 1 minute, after that it goes back to 67%

Anyone has any way to help me? This issue happens on all sound devices on my computer, already went trough all the procedures of updating windows, reinstalling drivers, troubloushooting, etc

    :)

  2. Why is the volume set to 67?

    ...

I cannot say if that is normal or not.

If you are saying you set it each night before you go to bed, meticulously, to 33 and in the morning it has set itself to 67 or something (locked room, computer cannot be touched by anyone else and you are sure you did not hit some key combination or something
that could change the volume) - no, your volume should not spontaneously set itself.

If you are saying that after you freshly installed Windows, the volume was, out of the box, set to 67 (on a scale of 0-100), I could see that... never thought to observe that.

  3. Windows 10 maxes out volume sometimes

I got the same problem and installing new software is not helping. I got Asus T100HA notebook. My sound devices listed in the device manager are: Intel SST Audio Device (WDM) and Realtek I2S Audio Codec. As mentioned above, when watching youtube or a movie
on VLC, after hiting pause and play again, the volume is maxed out which is kinda unpleasent for ears especially when I am using headphones. Then /i quickly have to move volume buttons on the notebook to lower the volume. What is weird is that while usually
one click is 2% volume, it is always one click after this auto volume maxing to move the volmy back to my desired level like 12. So that may suggest that according to the volume indicator it is not maxed out and touching the buttons refreshs the setting. Either
way it is extremly annoying. Maybe we should sue somebody for hearing damage?
