Windows 10: Categories for File Explorer or the like

So I realize that File Explorer has been talked to death on here but I haven't been able to find any post relating to this and I'm hoping someone has an idea if it's possible or not.

Because of my work, I tend to have alot of sub-folders upon sub-folders upon sub-folders, what would make life a WHOOOOLLLLLE lot easier for me, particularly for the sake of organization but more so for the sake of time, is if there was away to create sort of a category/sub-category list within a files property, and be able to edit those either one file at a time or with multiple files selected.

For example, I design kitchens/baths of all kinds and would love so much to be able to go in the property of a rendered image, type in "Kitchens", sub-category "Modern", etc... and so when it comes time for it, I can search in File Explorer (or a similar program) for files that all fall under a particular category/sub-category.

Is this even possible in File Explorer, another FE program or not even possible in Windows?

"This file can't be previewed" problem in explorer

Hi Deborah,

For us to provide an accurate resolution, kindly elaborate the issue by answering the questions listed below:

• Since when have you been experiencing this issue?
• Were there any changes on your PC before this happened like software or updates installed?

For initial troubleshooting, we suggest that you follow the steps listed below:

• Open File Explorer.
• Access this link
  
  C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer
• Delete all the files.
• After deleting the files kindly try and see if there's a thumbnail preview of your files.

How to REPLACE Win 10 File Explorer

Sorry, but answering this one would REALLY end up in the rant category which according to someone above was not taken kindly to. And it would mean skating dangerously close to the limits of the politeness line, towards the designers of said contraption, no impoliteness towards forum members suggested or implied.

Hi Mick,

I am sorry to know that the File Explorer is not working on the Taskbar.

I suggest you to right-click on it to unpin it from the task bar.

Then search for File Explorer in Search. Then right-click on it to Pin it to Taskbar.

If the issue persists, try the steps below.

• 
  Type CMD in Search. Right click on it to run as an administrator.
  
• 
  Type the following 4 commands at the Command prompt:
  

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

sfc /scannow

powershell

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

• 
  Close the CMD window.
  
• 
  Check to see if the issue is resolved. If not, restart the PC.
