  1. display supported modes

    Hi All,

Does anyone know where are all the supported display modes listed (in Windows registry?)

Problem is that due to a video switch the display, computer does not get EDID data from the display and the native resolution is not then listed in the supported modes of the graphic driver. How can I add this missing resolution? Can I somehow manipulate the windows registry and force this external display to use certain resolution (1280 x 800)

    BR,

    Keijo

    Driver and/or display problem (AMD)

    Try this:

    • Right click on a blank area of your desktop and select "Display Properties"
    • Select "Advanced Display Settings"
    • Select "Display Adapter Properties"
    • Click on "List all Modes"
    • Select the preferred display mode. Something with at least 60Hz.
    • Then select your setting you want
    • See if the option came back

Try the steps listed here and check if it helps:

    Method 1:

    Method 2:

If the issue persists, i suggest you to uninstall and re-install latest display driver from the computer manufacturer website and check if it helps.

    Step 1: Uninstall display driver.

    • Right-click on the Start Button and click on
      Device manager.
    • Double-click on Display Adapters to expand.
    • Right-click on the display adapter driver that is listed and select properties.

    display supported modes

    AMD FX OC'ers Club

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
