    Hey guys, There's a whole bunch of junk on my system, plus some sensitive files that I no longer need, so I figured I should just do a complete hard drive wipe with something like DBAN.

    Some sources on the internet say that wiping an SSD is different than HDD, and that you need to take additional steps to do so while making sure all your data is gone. Is this true?

    Also, what method/how many passes is secure without being completely overkill (like the 35-pass Guttman method)?

    Hello,

    I will be selling my PC in a couple of days, is there a tool which will allow me to completely wipe the hard drive so no sensitive information can be recovered, but also leaving the hard drive in a usable condition because it will be formatted with a new Operating System ready for the next user.
