  1. Unable to access Microsoft Family webpage

I am having problems accessing https://account.microsoft.com/family. All I get is a page that says.

    Try refreshing the page

Something’s wrong on our side. For now, you may want to try searching for something else.

To my knowledge this is the only place I can go to adjust the parental control settings for my kids. As a result of this page not working, I have been locked out of making any changes (or event turning it off) for 4 days now.

Any suggestions to help fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.

  2. Unable to access Microsoft Family webpage

    Hi Britt,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand your query related to not being able to access Microsoft Family page. For further clarity on the issue, please respond to the questions below.

    1. Which browser are you using to access the website?
    2. Have you tried using any other browser?
    3. Are you aware of any changes made to the PC prior to which you weren’t facing this issue?
    4. Do you receive the same error on any other device?

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try clearing cache and cookies of the browser and check if that helps.

    • If you are using Microsoft Edge then:

    1. Open Microsoft Edge and go to
      Settings
      and more > Settings >
      Privacy & security

    2. Under Clear browsing data, select
      Choose what to clear.
    3. Select the Cookies and saved website data check box and then select
      Clear

    • If you are using Internet explorer then:

    1. Press Windows key + R. This will open
Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for Run.
    2. In Run dialog box, type inetcpl.cpl and hit enter.
    3. Select General tab and under
      Browsing history
      click on Delete.
    4. Select Temporary Internet files and website files.
    5. Select Cookies and website data.
    6. Click on Delete
    7. Click on Apply and OK

Let us know how it goes.

Unable to access Microsoft Family webpage

    Microsoft Family Screen Time

    Hi Laurel,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community forum.

This could happen when the child account fails to sync with the server. I suggest you to try the steps listed below and check if it works:

    • Open
      File Explorer
and navigate to the following location:
    • C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Parental Controls

      Note:
The above mentioned directory is hidden, copy and paste the same location on the search bar in the File Explorer to access it.
    • Delete the contents in the
      \\settings
directory of the Parental Controls folder.
    • Reboot the machine to see if the issue persists.

If the issue persists, you may want to remove the child account from Microsoft family and add it again.

    • To know how to remove an account from Microsoft Family, refer:

Remove members from your family group
    • To know how to add an account to Microsoft Family, refer:

Add members to your family group
