    permission problems

So either this has been going on a while or I'm just now noticing it but I install a program the other day for 3D projects and I tried to save my project and it wouldn't let me because the file save location couldn't be found, looked around and someone said the folder might not have been given full access. So I check the security settings of the .exe file and it says I have full access except special permission, So I thought maybe the install got messed up because my windows defender is blocking everything I download so I tried to go into add or remove programs and I get an error message saying that either the file doesn't exist or I don't have permission to do it, So I tried to delete another 3D program I downloaded yesterday and it too said the same thing. I tried going into the user account control settings and it said "Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item." just like it said when Trying to uninstall these programs. What is going on?

edit: So i've tried a few other things just to see if it happened for those to and it did. My windows defender popped up saying my administrator has blocked an action. app or process blocked: _uninstall9576 Protected folder:%common_desktop%. blocked by controlled access folder.

  2. No permissions

    Hi,

I would suggest you to right click on the user's folder for your profile and check if the permissions shows as "read only'. If this is the case, it might be causing the issue. In this case, I would suggest you to go to C:\User folder, right click on the
folder with your username and follow these steps:

    • Open the properties of the main user profile folder where the files are located (such as Documents, Pictures, etc).
    • Go to the Security tab and click Advanced.
    • Check the box at the bottom of this window. It is labeled "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object" and then click Ok.
This does a one-time action that replaces the security on all the files/subfolders. It’s one-time, so you won’t find that box checked if you peek at it later. Try these steps and let us know the results for further assistance.

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
    a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
    b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.
