Windows 10: A problem with MS Word and W10 Word Pad on my laptop.

I proceed to compose a letter/message etc and after approx 4-5 min ‘usually half way through' the page disappears and cant I find it anywhere, it is possible that my hand accidentally touched the scroll pad, or that I hit two keys at the same time, is this a common occurrence and what can I do to avoid it? A point of interest, this is done in the evening and on battery power, this actual post was composed this morning but with power on and performed perfectly.

nearest. Obviously you are all clever people, but you are all guilty of missing the basic point of the question asked.

Ok, I deleted the item which you rightly said was in Documents Thank you

Going back to word pad,and I find the items still listed!

The important bit now and what I wanted to know.....Double click on the deleted item in word pad and a notice will show Cannot find file

Click Ok in that box and then,and only then will the item be deleted from the file box in word pad

Short cut in changing Word Pad default to Word in Windows 10

Unaware of what the cause was, I get a Word Pad default every time I try to open my Word file.

Here is a few simple steps I did:

Right Click on Word Pad

Setting

Properties

General

Click om Word Pad and change to Word (Icon appears)
